Might it be from Aliens or a Conscious Robot?

Spammers do this to test if the comments appear quickly (i.e. you probably aren’t moderating them). If so, they know that they can dump actual spam in comments.
It’s a kind of ‘white hat’ spammer thing. The ‘black hat’ version would just be to launch the actual spam first.

I am sure that Akismet will kill the actual spam.
